Georgia State University has selected three new research clusters as part of the fourth round of its ambitious Next Generation Program, dedicated to boosting the university’s reputation for pioneering, interdisciplinary research and scholarship.
The Office of the Provost welcomes proposals for the fourth round of the Next Generation Program. The Next Generation Program, the successor to the Second Century Initiative (2CI), aims to build strength around core and innovative research and scholarly themes that have strategic importance to the university.
The successful 2CI program and the first three years of the Next Generation Program have resulted in the hiring of outstanding interdisciplinary faculty, have contributed to the significant expansion of our research, scholarship and funding, and have yielded creative new interdisciplinary courses and academic programs.
The revised Request for Proposals (RFP) challenges faculty and deans to be highly innovative and creative in proposed clusters, aligning with the university’s strategic plan that has built a research culture to tackle large and complex problems of the 21st century. The deadline for initial letters of interest is Oct. 26.
